Buildings

Buildings Stats

Detailing all of the different stats that a Building can have in They Are Billions. Some stats here will be listed with an alternative name in parentheses - it is the in-game name for the stat.

HP (Life)

  • Shows the amount of damage a building can take before it is completely destroyed and all the resources spent and benefits gained from the building are lost (if a Workshop building is destroyed - by issuing a manual, targeted attack order - all the research progress is lost and will require researching each technology again).
  • Split into a green and a yellow bars for most buildings. The Defense structures (walls, gates, towers, etc) have only one, entirely green bar.

Defensive Barrier

  • The yellow bar of a building's total HP bar is the Defensive Barrier. It indicates the amount of damage a building can sustain from the Infected before the building becomes infected with their next attack.
  • When a building is infected, it becomes temporary disabled, and its functionality benefits (and upkeep) are suspended.
  • An infected building spawns infected enemies equivalent to the number of workers/colonists occupying the building initially (depends on the building type, e.g.: infected Tent - provides 4 colonists and 2 workers - spawns 2 infected; infected Hunter Cottage - provides 2 colonists - spawns 2 enemies; Wood Workshop - requires 10 workers - spawns 10 enemies). Among the newly created infected could be walkers and runners, including Executives. A building being infected also generates Noise depends on how many workers/colonists are infected (50 noise per infected).
  • An infected building needs to be completely repaired to restore its functionality, or can be demolished to salvage the resources. Usually only the yellow portion of the total HP bar needs repairs, because the infected do not destroy the green bar after depleting the yellow bar.
  • Repairing a building will require paying a certain amount of resources equivalent to a portion of the total cost of a new building.
  • A building may not be repaired if there are not enough resources, including Energy and Food, however, the worker count is allowed to go into negative values after the building gets repaired (e.g. Wood Workshop can be issued the repair command while there are only 9 workers available at the moment, though the building requires 10 workers to be initially built). Also the building/structure must be completely within the active energy grid, similarly to when a new building/structure is being placed (e.g. if a Tesla Tower extending the energy network for the whole building/structure is infected, it must be repaired first).
  • A building may be partially unfunctional when it is undergoing the repair process (Command Center - new buildings cannot be built; research facility - researching is blocked; etc).
  • Note that a building can be destroyed by infected if it has not been completely finished and its yellow bar has not appeared and/or been depleted past its maximum range. The infected are spawned as usual, except for uninhabited Tents.

View Range

  • The vision radius of a building.
  • Disabled buildings don't provide view.
