Known Exploits
A short list of mechanics that fall just outside what the game was designed for, but that the community has settled into and that no patch has removed. Useful to know whether you intend to use them or just want to recognise them in other players' runs.
Ranger Animation Cancel
Alternating between a unit's movement modes resets that unit's attack cooldown. The timing takes a bit of practice, but correct execution can greatly increase the effective attack speed of a Ranger. See the Animation Canceling page for more depth.
Sequence
- Press H (Hold position) → fire.
- Press C (Chase) → immediately fire again.
- Press H → immediately fire again.
- Repeat — alternating H / C between every shot.
Scratching Post
Zombie AI pathing prioritises whatever structure is directly in front of an Infected at any given moment. You can exploit this by dropping a single, isolated Wood Wall or Stone Wall tile at the edge of the map to distract wandering zombies, keeping them away from your actual gates. They'll happily chew on the lone tile while your real perimeter goes uncontested.
