No Pause
"History of the "Map Rule" When this High Scores page was created there were no rules. The first version of the map rule rule which read "Player must start by choosing 'New Game' (as opposed to 'Load Game')" was added in response to specific behavior. A top streamer had a friend who would repeatedly start new games (a.k.a. "roll for maps") off stream. The friend would play those maps and when they found good ones, they would send them to the streamer. This was deemed "cheating" because someone else had previous knowledge about the quality of the map and then effectively shared that with the person going for the high score. A new type of behavior was observed in October 2020. Arvius and Shad3less began simultaneously playing (squad streaming) the same maps at the same time. They would each click "New game" looking for maps but not starting them, and when one found a map that looked good just from the initial position, they would share that with the other player who would click "Load Game" to play it. So far the community seems to be ok with this behavior and does not consider it cheating since neither player has any previous knowledge about the map. The rule has now been changed to reflect this. However, further discussion is welcome in the comments with particular weight going to the opinion of other top scorers."
